About

The TRAILS Cycling Program takes place throughout the spring, summer and fall. The program runs several times per week. Sessions in early-to-mid spring and mid-to-late fall typically take place in the afternoon whereas summer sessions start early to beat the heat. The cycling program primarily runs out of Liberty and Sugarhouse Parks. Advanced rides take place on the Jordan River and Legacy Trails throughout the cycling season.

The Right Fit

We maintain a a fleet of handcycles and recumbent trikes to ensure every person is provided with the optimal equipment for their skill, ability and intention. Accessories and adaptations are available for use. Participants may also bring their own cycle.

Support Staff

First time riders start riding at Liberty Park with qualified staff to assist in equipment selection and adjustments. Fitting cycles is an ongoing process and participants should expect a bit of tinkering throughout the first ride or two to dial-in the fit, accessories and adaptations.

What to bring

Participants should plan to bring clothing appropriate for the day’s weather, wear sunscreen when appropriate and bring water for when riding. Helmets are provided and mandatory on all rides. Participants may also choose to bring their own cycle.

Race Teams

TRAILS supports a Cycling Race Team that competes in the handcycling category in the annual Salt Lake Marathon. Sponsored team members commit to a year-round cycling program. Learn more about Race Teams.
